Caterina De Pietri is the director of the De Pietri Artphilein Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to contemporary art and philosophy, with a particular interest in photography.
The Foundation has created and supports Artphilein, a cultural center dedicated to contemporary photography, art, and independent publishing. Founded in Lugano in 2013 and, starting in 2024, in Paradiso, it includes a public library of photography books with over 4,500 volumes, three exhibition spaces: Focus, Box, and La Piscina; the publishing house Artphilein Editions; and a specialized bookstore.
Caterina De Pietri graduated in law from the University of Zurich; from 1986 until 2005 she was a lawyer and public notary in Lugano. Today she is still active as an international legal consultant.
