Spectrum - Photography in Switzerland was established in 2017 as a successor to ASIP (ASIP - Association Suisse des institutions pour la photographie was founded in 1996 as an association of Swiss photographic institutions).

Spectrum - Photography in Switzerland now welcomes not only photo institutions, collective members but also individual members who are active in the field of collection, mediation, processing and discussion of photography in Switzerland. The association promotes communication, networking among the various individual and institutional actors, museums, galleries, collections, archives, libraries, schools, and supports contact with politics and cultural policy. Spectrum is committed to the importance of photography in Swiss culture.
