Raphaël Biollay

Brief Biography

Raphaël Biollay was educated as a classical Art historian. Since 1997, he is specialized in the new production of contemporary artists and photographers’ projects and coordination of international group show.

 

He is the curator at Festival Images Vevey (Switzerland) since 2008. The Festival Images is a real temporary open-air museum by producing every two years monumental photography exhibitions in the streets of Vevey. Entirely free, the Festival is a quality art platform. 


Also General Secretary of the “Images Vevey Foundation”, he supervises the whole production of the festival and associated projects such as the permanent exhibition space Espace Images Vevey or the Grand Prix Images Vevey. 

 

Working for more than twenty years on international art exhibitions, he is connected with major international institutions both in the fields of contemporary art, video art and photography. Compulsive reader, he feels comfortable in every aspect linked with creation.

Current Projects

Grand Prix Images Vevey

Grand Prix Images Vevey is one of Europe's oldest photography grant. Every second year, this award of CHF 40’000 enables one artist to develop an original project over a year and present it at the next Festival Images Vevey. Other awards as the "Images Vevey Book Award" are also given during the same jury session. 
The next Grand Prix Images Vevey 2021/2022 call for entries will open mid-January 2021.

 

Espace Images Vevey
The Espace Images Vevey is Images's Vevey permanent exhibition space, acting as a link between two biennials. Espace Images has moved in a space that is being totally renovated. The new venue will be located in 250 square meters apartments in the main hall of Vevey's train station.
Opening: mid-2021.
