Ulrike Meyer Stump

Brief Biography

Ulrike Meyer Stump is a lecturer in the Knowledge Visualization program in the Department of Design at the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK after teaching History of Photography in the Fine Arts Department for many years. She holds a BA in Art History and Photo History and an MA in Museology from the Ecole du Louvre and a PhD in Art History from Princeton University. Her work as a writer, editor, and curator focuses on Karl Blossfeldt, contemporary photography, and the history of the photobook, as well as on interdisciplinary questions relating to the visual in the arts and sciences. As a former member of the Photography Commission of the Swiss Federal Office of Culture (2004-2011) and a photography expert for Pro Helvetia (2012-2019) she is also interested in cultural promotion.
