I am a curator, lecturer and writer in photography, currently holding the position as Head of Programme BA Camera Arts at HSLU Lucerne/ Design & Art.
In my work to date, I combine both practical-institutional and scientific-academic experience. During almost ten years as a permanent curator at the C/O Berlin Foundation, I have conceived and introduced several programme formats that deal with the profound changes in photography since digitalisation as well as with questions about the future of the medium. Next to numerous group exhibitions, such as most recently BACK TO THE FUTURE - The 19th Century in the 21st Century or WATCHED - Surveillance Art and Photography, I have been showing international, conceptually working artists, whose work reflexively deals with the changing conditions of production, distribution, presentation and reception of the medium, such as Christopher Williams, Broomberg & Chanarin, Lucas Blalock, Viktoria Binschtok or Torbjorn Rodland, amongst others.
In addition to my curatorial work, I regularly have been given lectures and seminars at numerous universities, such as Aalto University of Arts & Design Helsinki, Cologne University of Arts and Media, HfbK Hamburg and Folkwang University Essen. Since 2016, I am also a lecturer in the Master's programme in photography at ECAL, University of Arts and Design Lausanne, Switzerland.
