Second Newsletter Spring 2020

In times of COVID-19 / 2

Dear Spectrum members,

Here the promised second spring newsletter. Unfortunately, it will only be a short one.

Spectrum-Weekend in Valle di Muggio

Together with Rosella Rolla from the Rolla Foundation, the board of Spectrum decided to postpone the Spectrum-Weekend either to spring or to the end of August 2021.
We are of the opinion that the reasons for this postponement are obvious and clear:

  • The virus will remain as well as our uncertainty about how to deal with it.
  • The idea of the Spectrum-Weekend is a “coming together for 48 hours”. Obviously, social distancing is the opposite of this.
  • Bruzella’s kindergarten and Rolla’s house in the beautiful Valle di Muggio are too small to allow proper distancing.
  • The hostels and guesthouses are scattered throughout the valley and we would have needed a minibus for the transport.

For the moment, we can only wish you a good time. Hopefully, you can enjoy the spring and summer a little bit. And hopefully, we will meet – at a proper social distance  – in the museums and exhibition rooms that will soon be opened again. But we will certainly meet again in the end of November at ECAL in Lausanne for the General Assembly and What's Next 2021!

On behalf of the Spectrum-Board and with my very best wishes,

Urs Stahel
